The trail-blazing clothing manufacture has partnered with world-renowned designer Marimekko to bring tennis players some truly unforgettable tennis shoes and darling tennis apparel. The launch is to honor and celebrate female athletes, as well as women role models. The exclusive collection is nothing shy of attention-getting. Marimekko
Since the 1950’s Marimekko has been creating furnishings, textiles, and show-stopping fashions. Based in Helsinki, Finland, the company is best known for its brightly colored prints that empower people to express their inner joy. Their patterns are distinctively bold. Incendentily, they have two designers Vuokko Nurmesniemi and Maija Isola. Together, they’ve created hundreds of patterns. Marimekko is now a household name.
Adidas elected to use a handful of patterns through this collaboration. One of their choices was Marimekko’s most popular to date. It is the poppy pattern, also referred to as Unikko. Its concept was born in 1964 when designer Maija Isola wanted to expand to organic and floral prints. Up to that point, most of their designs were abstract prints.
