It also empowers women with its bold, attention-getting patterns.  See for yourself why Adidas is the talk of tennis.

Designer Marimekko

adidas

Since the 1950’s Marimekko has been creating furnishings, textiles, and show-stopping fashions.  Based in Helsinki, Finland, the company is best known for its brightly colored prints that empower people to express their inner joy.  Their patterns are distinctively bold. Incendentily, they have two designers Vuokko Nurmesniemi and Maija Isola.  Together, they’ve created hundreds of patterns. Marimekko is now a household name.

Adidas elected to use a handful of patterns through this collaboration. One of their choices was Marimekko’s most popular to date. It is the poppy pattern, also referred to as Unikko.  Its concept was born in 1964 when designer Maija Isola wanted to expand to organic and floral prints. Up to that point, most of their designs were abstract prints. But the flower has power. It is a creative reminder that inspires women worldwide.

The New Apparel

adidas

Tennis fans and players will be inspired by this collection because it combines the bold art of Marimekko with the functionality of Adidas. Some of the tennis apparel features include Aeroready.  This moisture-wicking technology allows the fabric to absorb water ultra fast. The idea is to keep you feeling cool and dry so you are ready to play your next point.  The collection is also made with Primeblue. This recycled polyester is made from plastic that has been diverted from beaches and marine communities prior to reaching ocean waters. Primeblue is an example of what Adidas is doing to be more environmentally friendly.

One piece from this collection is the Adidas Women`s Marimekko Primeblue Aeroready Y-Back Tennis Dress in Carbon and Black. It features a brilliant poppy pattern. Also, this dress has a low rounded neck, Y-Back straps, and a godet hemline. Another piece that pairs perfectly with it is the Adidas Women’s Marimekko Primeblue Aeroready Tennis Shrug in Black and Gold Metallic. This long-sleeve cropped silhouette is a slim fit, and also offers UPF 50 protection.

Another piece to review is the Adidas Women’s Marimekko Primeblue Aeroready Y-Back Tennis Tank in Halo Blush and Black.  This tank mimics some of the dress’s qualities with a low-rounded neck and Y-back strap. Naturally, it goes with the Adidas Women’s Marimekko Primeblue Match 13 Inch Tennis Skort in Carbon and Black as well as Halo Blush and Black.  These skorts feature an elastic waist, subtle pleats and come with built-in shorts, perfect for holding a ball or two.
