One of the most popular shoes in tennis gets an upgrade in the Hypercourt Express 2. With this update, players of all skill levels will benefit from a lighter overall build, more supportive upper, and more adaptive midsole technology. The Hypercourt Express 2 maintains the comfortable fit past Hypercourts were known for, and introduces a modern style to keep your feet looking as fresh as they’ll feel on the court. Let’s see what this shoe is made of:
K-Swiss Hypercourt Express 2 Tennis Shoes
Upgraded Upper
The Hypercourt Express 2 introduces a new upper construction consisting of DuraWrap Flex. This material covers breathable mesh for better protection and support, while still maintaining ventilation and freedom of movement. It gives the shoe a rather unique look, as well. The upper is brought together through a Seamfree construction method to minimize possible areas of discomfort.
Locked-In Fit
An abrasive Heel Grip Lining returns in this update to help keep your heel firmly placed within the shoe. We also see the implementation of Stay-Tied Laces to ensure a more distraction-free experience on the court.
New Midsole Technology
K-Swiss incorporated their new Surgelite midsole technology into the Hypercourt Express 2 for a more responsive, comfortable experience. This material was successfully integrated into a couple of 2019 models, most notably the Ultrashot 2, with positive results. This dynamic material is also designed to be lightweight, flexible, and durable.
Removable Insole
A soft Ortholite insole is incorporated into the shoe to provide greater levels of moisture management and cushioning. It also features anti-microbial properties to keep your feet cool and comfortable. If you have custom orthotics, you can easily remove the insole.
Torsional Stability
In the midfoot, K-Swiss has included their 180 PSC (Plantar Support Chassis). It’s visible on both the medial and lateral sides, and wraps underneath the latter. It’s designed to enhance midfoot stability, as well as improve torsional control. The benefit is greater overall stability during quick changes in direction.
Durable Outsole
A familiar non-marking, Aösta 7.0 high-density rubber outsole returns for excellent durability and traction. It features a rounded heel to promote a smoother landing phase. This area of the shoe should remain familiar to fans of the Hypercourt Express.
Fit and Sizing
K-Swiss stuck to their guns with the sizing of the Hypercourt Express 2, and for good reason. Some of the most popular aspects of the Hypercourt Express were its slightly wide fit and relatively low arch. Our playtesters feel that fans of the original will enjoy the update.
