Bringing Lotto’s Mirage 100 Speed into Focus

The Lotto Mirage 100 Speed hit the US marketplace late in 2019. It’s the brand’s tour-level shoe, and can be found on the feet of ATP and WTA pros like Matteo Berrettini and Alison Riske. It provides a light and agile feel, while still offering the support and protection needed to withstand the intensity of tennis played at the highest levels. Let’s take a closer look at what makes this shoe so special:

The Lotto Mirage 100 Speed packs a high-quality midsole to rival that of any other top brand. Technologies like Enerturn, Syn-Pulse, Puntoflex, and BFC combine to provide the sport’s most dynamic movers with better overall efficiency of movement. This is achieved through an excellent balance between shock absorption, energy return, cushioning, stability, and weight-saving properties.

Despite the lightweight nature of the Mirage 100 Speed (my men’s size 9.5 was just over 12oz), the shoe still offers a strong level of durability. The upper is protected by a Kurim rubber anti-abrasion toe cap that manages to flex naturally on the court. The LongLast 40 anti-abrasion outsole also holds its own as far as durability is concerned.

Perhaps most unique of all, the Mirage 100 Speed comes with two sets of insoles, one thick and one thin. This allows you to customize the level of cushioning you experience based on your preference. I personally enjoyed how the thicker insole felt. Lotto also added an alternate pair of shoelaces to help you modify your look, or simply have a backup in a worst-case scenario.

Fit and Sizing

Our playtesters recommend ordering 1/2 size up for these shoes. They run a little bit narrow, and can feel snug in the forefoot as they’re breaking in. Aside from that, you can expect a relatively average arch height. The insole option does a nice job of letting you choose between a close-to-the-court feel, or softer underfoot sensation.
