Venus Williams’ outfits have been under the spotlight more times than we can count. Her unique position as both a tennis player and fashion designer never fails to impress tennis fans. Her latest EleVen collection celebrates everything that Venus and all of her ensembles stand for: freedom, fierceness, and individuality.
Pictured here is Venus wearing the Sprint Incline dress, with a halter-neck design, dropped waist, and a floating bra panel at the back. This piece combines the allure of a cocktail dress with the function of high-performing tennis apparel.
Most of the designs in the collection borrow heavily from Vee’s ‘Bare is beautiful’ philosophy, one that she has thoroughly and unabashedly defended whenever she’s asked to explain her sartorial choices during interviews. She believes that bare skin, or even the illusion of it, is more beautiful than any concocted design, and as we saw her play in Rome wearing the Sprint outfits, we can’t help but agree.
Here’s a picture of Venus in Rome wearing the Apex Tank with the red Flutter Skort and a matching Sprint visor.
We can always argue over why women’s tennis outfits are subjected to such armchair criticism, but for now, let’s look at the pieces that Williams has created to honor bold and unapologetic women.
The Portal Tank features a deep V-neck, spaghetti straps, and a mesh racerback to create a statement-making look. Venus will most likely pair it with the Sprint Shimmer Skort but another option to consider is the Flutter Skort in red.
For those who prefer less print and more coverage, the collection also offers the Wrap Short Sleeve Top and the Backup Cap Sleeve Top. The former features a shirred side, printed piping and a side slit, while the latter makes use of printed swirl insets and back slits to achieve sophisticated and chic style.
The Sprint backpack is also part of the collection. Don’t be fooled by its streamlined, cute look; it has a monstrous storage capacity for all your gear so you never have to resort to formless, oversized tennis bags again.
All the pieces from the collection are equipped with numerous technological benefits to help you battle the summer heat as you play your best game. These include EleVen Pro-Dri for sweat management and UPF 50 protection that will block up to 98% of the sun’s damaging rays.
