HEAD’s premium lightweight tennis shoe gets an upgrade in the Sprint Pro 3.0. While fans of the Sprint Pro 2.5 can still expect lightweight, breathable, and dynamic performance, HEAD modified the shoe in a few key ways to up on-court feel. Let’s take a closer look:
HEAD Sprint Pro 3.0 Tennis Shoes
Streamlined Upper
In order to cut weight, HEAD made the upper more efficient with streamlined protective elements and strong microfiber welding. This design increases breathability while still keeping your foot secure. Drift Defense and Heel Stabilizer 180° technology help ensure the Sprint Pro 3.0 remains durable and stable.
Delta Strap
The new Delta Strap system incorporated into the laces provides additional midfoot support in a lightweight package. Imagine cutting to one side, but having a sort of safety net holding your foot over the center of the shoe. This helps with quicker transitions and injury prevention.
Half-Bootie Construction
One of the more notable changes with this update is that the traditional tongue has been replaced with an internal sleeve. It’s designed to hug your foot for a form-fitting feel, and provide more dynamic response to your movements.
Updated Outsole
While much of the midsole remains the same with the return of comfortable, stable, and responsive TRI-NRG technology, as well as HEAD’s Cooling System through the bottom of the shoe, there are some visible changes to the outsole. Right away, players will notice the updated tread pattern designed to provide more effective performance. The 3D Anti-Torsion Shank also appears to be a little bit larger for greater torsional stability. A couple of other consistencies with the past model are durable Hybrasion+ rubber, and a Lateral Control construction for a wide, stable base.
Fit and Sizing
In terms of sizing, HEAD’s Sprint Pro 3.0 runs true to size with a medium arch height and average, if not slightly slim, width. This remained pretty consistent with the Sprint Pro 2.5 for those seeking to seamlessly update their shoes.
