Although the year 2020 has seen its better days, Nike is bringing us something to truly look forward to wearing when we finally get back out on the court. Just like last year’s French Open tournament, Nike has taken an inspirational approach to their clothing line for the 2020 summer collection. This time, the brand is channeling Parisian streetwear with stripes and vibrant colors that give players of all levels a sporty yet formal flare when they walk out on the court.
Men’s Summer Apparel Collection
Like many other Nike collections, the summer apparel will have a distinct color scheme so you can coordinate across the board. Most notably, this year Nike is picking a Ghost Green, Royal Pulse and Purple Pulse theme for the men’s collection to keep you bright and visible from everywhere.
First big additions to the summer collection are the Rafa Court Challenger Short Sleeve Top and Rafa Court Essential Short Sleeve Top. The Rafa Court Challenger Top is slightly different, combining benefits from the traditional Court Challenger top and Rafa’s AeroReact Slam top. It pairs stretchy, breathable knit fabric with matte-finish horizontal stripes all over for signature style. It also features rolled-back shoulder seams, a slimming fit, and Rafa’s bull logo so you can rep the great tennis champion.
The Rafa Court Essential Top brings a refined casual look for off-court style. It’s made with 100% Dri-Fit cotton fabric, providing you with superior softness, comfort, stretch and sweat-wicking ability.
Other options that are distinct to the Men’s Summer Collection this season are the Challenger Court Short Sleeve Top and Team Court Dry Graphics Tennis Top. Although the Challenger Top keeps its name from previous seasons, it is completely redesigned for summer. The reshaped sleeves are slightly shorter and more open so you can swing efficiently. The premium fabric is lighter in weight and features engineered vertical stripes for enhanced ventilation as well as style.
The Team Court Dry Graphic Top gets a phenomenal update with its contrasting horizontal-striped design that’s created from alternating rows of breathable ribbing. There are underarm gussets and rolled-back shoulder seams to give you more room to move.
For those who want to just add more color to their wardrobe, Nike has updated their timeless classics in new, radiant colors.
Women’s Summer Apparel Collection
The Nike Women’s Summer Collection also heroes the Parisian streetwear theme, with many pieces hallmarking contrasting colored stripes. The main distinction from the men’s collection is the color scheme which revolves around Sunblush, Royal Pulse and Light Orewood Brown.
Three new additions to the Women’s Summer Collection are the Court Dry Elevated Essentials Layer Tennis Tank, Court Dry Elevated Essentials Tennis Tank and Elevated Essentials Tennis Top. The Elevated Essentials Layer Tank is a one-of-a-kind top that uses a sultry mesh layer over a figure-hugging tank for a look that’s never been seen before on court. The mesh is connected to the top part of the tank and cannot be removed, and it gives you an elegant style.
The Court Dry Elevated Essentials Tank (below on the left) brings fashion and function together for a great summer option. It’s made with stretchy knit Dri-Fit cotton blended material for generous freedom of movement as well as an ultra-soft feel against the skin. There’s a chic cutout at the back to allow for superior ventilation. Similar to the tank, the Elevated Essentials Top (below on the right) features the same material makeup as the tank giving you plenty of comfort for all day play. It has a looser-fitting, slightly-cropped silhouette with dolman sleeves for easy swinging ability.
To coordinate with the Elevated Essentials tops, Nike adds the Elevated Essentials Straight Tennis Skort and Elevated Essentials Flex Tennis Short. Both put a fun, stylish new twist to classic tennis bottoms. The Elevated Essentials Straight Tennis Skort has a solid-colored style but features a full-length slit at the side for better freedom of movement and a modern look. The Elevated Essentials Flex Short gets some subtle updates to give you more comfort and breathability during play. It features a slightly longer 4 inch inseam for better coverage and mesh on the outer short as well as the waistband for extra breathability.
For trendy Parisian street wear, you can try the Court Dry Printed Tennis Tank and Court Flouncy Printed Tennis Skort. The Printed Tank is updated with halter-like straps at the shoulder, a slimmer fit, and vertical contrasting stripes for style. It’s designed for top-notch performance and ticks all the boxes.
The Flouncy Printed Skort is based off your favorite, tried-and-true A-line skirt design. However, it gets updated with an asymmetrical striped print for a more sporty look. The stretchy mesh waistband enhances breathability and the built-in shorties offer support.
If you prefer solid-colored options, Nike offers their color updates on their classics too.
Boys’ and Girls’ Summer Apparel Collections
If you have a little champion who wants to show off their brand loyalty or just wants to match with their favorite pros, Nike has updated options for both boys and girls. Most notably on the boys’ side, Nike adds a Court Flex Ace Short that’s taken from the popular men’s version. It comes with a 6-inch inseam, plenty of comfort, and easy flexibility. To match, there’s also the Boys’ Team Court Dry Tennis Polo, Boys’ Court Dry Short Sleeve Top or Juniors Court Dri-Fit Tennis Tee.
Girls get the traditional staples as well but in new color schemes.
