BOLD Series Stack

The Brave and the Bold

Wilson released teaser versions of their Clash tennis racquet late last year with a “dazzle” inspired color scheme. The design was eye catching, and served as a great marketing piece to get players excited about the new racquet.

Fast forward to Spring 2019, and Wilson has updated their product line with some BOLD black and white graphics, similar to the dazzle look from last year. The racquets included are the Pro Staff 97L, Blade 98S, Ultra 100L, and the Ultra Junior 26. The designs are completely monochrome, save for the Wilson text on the shaft. The new frames are outlined below.

Wilson Bold Series Pro Staff 97L Tennis Racquet

If you love the box beam design and classic lines of Federer’s racquet, but need something more maneuverable, the Pro Staff 97L is a great place to start.

With a slightly thicker beam than the RF 97, players can expect a bit more help in the power department with the 97L. The 97L is a very nimble 10.7 ounces, and makes racquet head speed easy to generate. The BOLD Pro Staff 97L has the black and white striped pattern and a red Wilson logo at the throat.

Wilson Bold Series Blade 98S Tennis Racquet

One of the most played racquets on tour is the Wilson Blade. The 98S uses Wilson’s Spin Effect technology to help players get more rotation on their shots. The unique 18 x 16 string pattern allows the main strings to move more freely, and snap back into alignment to make the ball dive for the base line. The 98S offers a hefty swing weight that holds up against heavy hitters. The BOLD black and white striped look adorns the whole racquet, with the Wilson logo appearing in Blade green.

Wilson Bold Series Ultra 100 Tennis Racquet

Wilson’s Ultra line offers power, stability, and most importantly comfort. With the Ultra 100L, you get a near 10.3 ounce strung weight that is the fastest Ultra in the series. The Crush Zone grommets help increase the power throughout the sweet spot by compressing at impact keeping the ball on the strings a bit longer for more control. Power Rib technology in the throat helps produce more power, stability, and comfort. The black and white BOLD pattern design is all over the racquet with a light Ultra blue Wilson logo.

Wilson Bold Series Ultra 26 Junior Tennis Racquet

Perfect for a BOLD junior player playing with green or green-dot tennis balls, The Ultra Junior 26 gives kids the look to go with their game. The bold black and white print covers the racquet with a Ultra blue Wilson logo on the throat. The Crush Zone grommets help increase the power throughout the sweet spot by compressing at impact keeping the ball on the strings a bit longer for more control. Power Rib technology in the throat helps produce more power, stability, and comfort.
