When the Adizero Ubersonic 2 retired, it left lots of tennis fans sad and disappointed. Its overall comfort, stability and exceptional support had earned legions of fans, and tour pros like Alexander Zverev swore by it. While its successor, the Ubersonic 3, offered similar benefits, it never quite earned the same notoriety as the 2’s. That’s why adidas, in updating the Ubersonic line with the Ubersonic 4 tennis shoe, held on to the Ubersonic 2 as their primary benchmark.
Adidas Adizero Ubersonic 4 Tennis Shoe
The newest edition of the popular line, the Ubersonic 4, takes some of the same elements that made the Ubersonic 2 such a staple on the pro tour. It is touted to offer the same exceptional support and comfort that the 2’s had notably become famous for.
We’re previewing the Men’s Ubersonic 4 Tennis Shoe here for you today, so you can get an exclusive insight into what the newest version is all about, and what you can expect from it on the court!
The Cosmetic of the Ubersonic 4:
The black and white camo print is inspired by the camouflage versions of sports car – a bold appearance and generating buzz is what this shoe is all about. Throw in adidas’ iconic 3 stripes in neon green for a shoe that will definitely attract an eye or two. This black and white shoe is a limited edition version.
The Shoe
It is built on the same last as the Ubersonic 2, and it features the same comfortable and breathable primeknit sock as the inner layer of the upper. It is designed to offer the same fit as the 2.
The outer layer of the upper consists of a lightweight woven mesh which is reinforced internally to deliver greater stability whenever you’re executing quick changes of direction and more extreme lateral movements. You can expect the new version to mimic the low-to-the-court feel of the Ubersonic 2.
The Ubersonic 4 Tennis Shoe utilizes Adiwear rubber for its outsole, to provide a long-lasting grip and excellent traction on the court. The iconic heel clip makes a return in this version, and will offer tons of stability in the heel area so you can move with confidence on the court.
But the 4 does more than just replicate – it also improves. It features adidas’ new Light Strike midsole compound, which is designed to blend lightweight performance with responsiveness. By contrast, the Ubersonic 2 used a harder compound in the midsole; this means that Light Strike should make the Ubersonic 4 much more comfortable, and much less stiff than its predecessors.
Alexander Zverev will be sporting the Ubersonic 4 Tennis Shoe as he steps onto the tennis courts in 2021. Currently, the shoe is available in just the men’s version, and it isn’t clear when we’ll have a women’s Ubersonic 4 in the market.
The Ubersonic 4 takes what made the 2 a brilliant performance tennis shoe, and builds on it for better results. Whether you’re looking to head back to the tennis court after a hiatus, shopping for the tennis champ in your family, or simply looking for a shoe upgrade for yourself, the Ubersonic 4 Tennis shoe is a great option!
Spring 2021 will see the shoe arrive in many different colorways, one of which is this pink color.
Stay tuned for a detailed review of the shoe, which is coming very soon!
