It’s time for the grandest of the slams!
As we enter the land of lush green lawns and crisp white outfits, we have only one question on our minds: who will be taking the lustrous Wimbledon trophies home?
We don’t find out until July 14th, so let’s take a look at how some of our favorite athletes are honoring the grand slam’s time-honored tradition of tennis whites.
1. Roger Federer:
There’s something enchanting about watching him play those elegant shots against the classy Wimbledon background. Whether it’s the familial comfort of Centre Court or his absolute mastery of the sport, there is no doubt that all eyes will be on Fed as he eyes his 21st.
The 2017 (and 8-time) Wimbledon champion will enter his most favorite arena rocking this Uniqlo look. The solid-white polo and shorts shine with a dabble of red from the logo. We hope his game shines just as bright.
2. Angelique Kerber:
The 2018 Wimbledon champion hasn’t had the season she (and us) had hoped for, but she returns to the grass courts of London, determined to defend her crown.
She brings Stella McCartney’s designs back onto the court, with the adidas Stella McCartney Tennis Tank and the Stella McCartney Momentum Tennis Skirt.
3. Rafa Nadal:
With a record-holding 12 French Open titles, the raging bull marches on to London. Is there anything he can’t do?
He will be sporting his signature Nike Rafa Aeroreact Tennis Top in White.
4. Serena Williams:
We haven’t looked at Serena Williams’ bucket-list but we imagine it looks something like this:
Win the highest number of grand slams ever won by a player:
Win a grand slam while pregnant:
Win Wimbledon for the 8th time:
Continuing her new-found penchant for statement-making outfits, Serena will begin her quest for her 8th Wimbledon title in this textured Nike outfit:
In case you were wondering, those are 34 real Swarovski crystals. It has been dubbed the “Broosh” by Nike (it’s a Swoosh-shaped brooch), and the 34 crystals signify Serena’s age when she last won Wimbledon, back in 2016.
We have yet to see the full look, but we assume it’s going to be every bit as striking as the sneak peek.
5. Novak Djokovic:
Wimbledon last year marked the beginning of an extraordinary comeback for Nole. He had been written off by the tennis fraternity when the grand slam win propelled him back into the top 10 and the tennis world. Two grand slams later, Djokovic is ready to defend his crown.
He will be seen in the Lacoste Djokovic Ultra Dry Polo in White, with the Lacoste Novak 7 Inch Stretch Woven Short.
6. Ashleigh Barty:
2019 has been quite the year for Barty. She started off with a Miami Open title, dominated the clay courts of Paris to win her first ever grand slam, and then topped all of it off with the world number one ranking.
She’ll be wearing the Fila Matchplay Full Coverage Tank with the Matchplay Skort.
7. Milos Raonic:
Raonic has come close to a grand slam title many times, but has always fallen slightly short. Will this be the year the Canadian star wins his first? He’ll be wearing the New Balance Tournament Movement Tennis Top with the Men’s 7 Inch Tournament Tennis Short.
8. Maria Sharapova:
This has been a rough year for the Russian star. With injuries getting in the way of play at multiple tournaments, she is all set to return to the grand slam stage at Wimbledon in the Nike Maria Court Tennis Dress.
