We’re waiting with bated breath to see what our favorite athletes will bring to the court for the 2018 French Open, in terms of both performance and style. Here’s what a few of our favorite star players will be wearing for the tournament:
1. Rafael Nadal:
All eyes will be on Rafa, as the defending champion and the undisputed King of Clay charges on for a record 11th win at Roland Garros. Nadal will sport Nike’s exclusive Rafa Court Aeroreact Tennis Top in Lagoon Pulse with the Nike Court Flex Ace 7 Inch Short in Green Abyss. His outerwear for the tournament will be the Nike Rafa Jacket in Green Abyss.
2. Alexander Zverev:
He just grabbed his third ATP Masters in title in Madrid, becoming the fifth active player to win at least three Masters titles, joining Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray. Zverev has managed to pull off some major upsets in the past, but can he do it at Roland Garros?
He will enter the grand stage wearing the Climachill Tennis Tee in Chalk Coral and the Tennis Short in Ecru Tint, from the exclusive adidas Roland Garros collection for men.
3. Juan Martin del Potro:
After clinching his first ATP Masters 1000 title from the jaws of the crowd favorite at Indian Wells, del Potro returns to the French Open hopeful for a second Grand Slam win of his career.
del Potro will wear Nike’s Court Advantage Tennis Polo in Black and White with the Nike Court Flex 9 Inch Tennis Short for a classic look.
4. John Isner:
Isner just pocketed his first ATP Masters 1000 title at Miami against Zverev; there’s no reason why he won’t be gunning for another strong performance in Paris.
He will bring a striking contrast of colors to the court in Fila’s Heritage Striped Polo Shirt in the colors Chinese Red, Navy and White. Isner will pair this with the Fila Heritage Shorts in Navy and White.
5. Novak Djokovic:
After a series of injuries and missed tournaments, Djokovic re-entered the courts at Indian Wells. With his former coach back at his side and Lacoste as his new sponsor, we know he means business. Is this the tournament we witness the return of the once-invincible Djokovic?
He will wear the Men’s Short Sleeve Tennis Polo in White and Red and pair it with Men’s 7 Inch Stretch Woven Tennis Short in Red and Black.
6. Jelena Ostapenko:
The reigning Roland Garros champion will return to Paris to defend her Grand Slam title. She has worked her way up in the WTA rankings this past year, and we’re hopeful for the world number five.
She will pair the Tennis Tank in Chalk Coral with the Tennis Skort in Indigo Blue from the exclusive adidas Roland Garros collection for women. With pleat details and vibrant contrasting colors, she will make quite the style statement.
7. Simona Halep:
After a sponsorless few months, the world number 1 has teamed up with Nike. Halep has yet to win a Grand Slam title. She has had disappointing losses in two French Open finals, including last year’s. Will this finally be her year?
She will be seen in Nike’s Court Slam Tank paired with the Nike Court Smash Skirt.
8: Venus Williams:
With 3 French Open doubles titles to her name, all eyes are on the 37-year-old as she prepares for her first French Open singles title. Venus Williams last hoisted a Grand Slam trophy ten years ago and if she succeeds at Roland Garros this year, it will be quite the comeback.
She will wear designs from her own apparel line, EleVen by Venus. This will include the Incline dress, and the Apex and Portal tanks paired with the Shimmer Skorts in the colors White and Red.
9: Caroline Wozniacki:
With her first Grand Slam win at the Australian Open this year, we know Wozniacki is gunning for a second. After six, long years, she had reclaimed her spot as world number one as a result, only to lose it again, this time to to Halep two months later.
She will be wearing this classy adidas Stella McCartney Barricade Tennis Dress as she brings her A-game to fight for a second grand slam and the top WTA ranking.
10: Karolina Pliskova:
The former world number one has yet to win a Grand Slam. After losing to Halep in the semifinal of last year’s French Open, Pliskova is all set to prove her mettle on the big courts.
She will take on her opponents in Fila’s stylish Elite Pleated Bank Tanks, featuring the eye-catching Electric Club print, in the colors White and Lilac Chiffon. Pliskova will pair these with the Elite Pleated Skorts in Electric Club and White, and Lilac Chiffon, respectively, for a chic, modern look.
