At least stateside, the U. S. Open is the Super Bowl for American tennis fans. The tennis world shifts its focus to Flushing, New York to see the world’s best duke it out for the last grand slam of the year. The top brands in the sport utilize the late August event as a showcase for some of their newest and biggest product launches. 2019 is no different, and a veritable smorgasbord of new racquets, strings, and grips will be hitting the market just prior to Labor Day. Here are some of highlight releases hitting market around the US Open.
Join the Clash Mob
Wilson introduced the tennis industry to the Clash 100 and Clash 100 Tour earlier this spring. The racquets are touted by Wilson as being “the most flexible racquet in tennis”. Now, Wilson is doubling down on all things Clash by releasing a Clash 98, 100L, 108, and two reduced length models in the Clash 25 and 26.
Tennis Express’ Bold not Basic Giveaway
Wilson released teaser versions of their Clash tennis racquet late last year with a “dazzle” inspired color scheme. The design was eye catching, and served as a great marketing piece to get players excited about the new racquet.Fast forward to Spring 2019, and Wilson has updated their product line with some BOLD black and white graphics, similar to the dazzle look from last year. The racquets included are the Pro Staff 97L, Blade 98S, Ultra 100L, and the Ultra Junior 26. The designs are completely monochrome, save for the Wilson text on the shaft. The new frames are outlined below.
